He hesitated at first given how involved he already was in the community.

By 1981, Brandt said he’d been asked by the chairman of the local chapter of the Republican party to think about getting into politics. The road to such an accomplishment, though, has a more humble beginning.īrandt, 70, began serving the public in 1974 as a member of the Jaycees by helping to plan the annual Christmas parade, which he would coordinate for the next 25 years, and as president of Lower Gwynedd Little League, the home and school association and later the Kiwanis Club of Ambler, through which he began the annual carnival and fireworks display.

So much so that Brandt’s name was recently added to the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors Hall of Fame for his 28 years of service to the township as a supervisor. From bug spraying coordinator to highly respected township supervisor, Ed Brandt has had quite an illustrious career in Lower Gwynedd Township.
